I'm Milo

Hi everyone. I'm Milo. I'm a caramel and white rabbity soft boy and I live in New Jersey. I am a hearty eater and I play hard. I enjoy sleeping with my people, lounging on their desk, touching and chewing on things that crackle, chasing golf balls, playing "String," and climbing in drawers. I have a big voice and a lot to say. I also purr and knead and headbutt things I like.

My friend Yuri has a blog. Here it is: http://yuri-catablog.blogspot.com/ He and I used to be neighbors. Now we correspond in the cat-o-sphere. It's a better medium for us.

Dear Milo,

I need your advice. Yuri and I have been trying to welcome our new friend Emma into our urban nest, but she still hates us. What should we do?

Concerned in Chicago,
Tomas (a/k/a "Other Cat")

Dear Tomas--
Some cats, like me and Emma, don't like to socialize with other felines. It sounds like she might be a bit shy. I, on the other hand, prefer to be the main center of attention and don't like the competition. My suggestion is to let her get used to the two of you, and your new shared home, for a while. Maybe she'll come around. Maybe not. Just don't pee on her stuff.

Thanks, Milo. I have never pee'ed on her stuff. Really! I will try to give her more space, and I will share your advice with Yuri.

Best wishes,
Tomas

Milo,
That's crap! She has been living with us for nearly 5 months now. How long does she need?

Well, Yuri, we guys can be a little overbearing (or so I hear. I personally can't see it). Be patient. Besides, think of how much better WE get along with some distance between us.

Point taken. We will keep you posted.

As I'm writing this, I'm chubbed out as far as I can be. I like 2 du this once in a while, but the problem is my mummy says I'm 2 chubby. What is rong with being chubby? How do yu keep yur figure (yu look grate btw)? How can I stop my mummy frum putting me on a diet?

I am using Rose's account. My big fat sister Rose is always biting me and chasing me under tables. She pretends to mush my mummy's belly but uses the "back paw musing motion" to step on me and knock me off of mummy's lap. How can I get her to be nice (or not so fat so it doesn't hurt so much)?

Luv,
Belle "Buttons" Baugh

Dear Rose--
I relate. I think I look fabulous, but my person says I am too plump. When she tries to put me on a diet, I make it my business to make it too difficult for her. I campaign for dinner starting at 2, howl at the fridge, knock things off the kitchen counter, esp. breakables, bite her on the leg, or scratch her arm when she's working at the computer. Do this at all meals and snack times. Then you'll continue to be fat and fabulous.

Dear Belle--
The key is to use Rose's girth to your advantage. Even though she's big, she's probably not as quick as you. Try distracting her by fooling her into thinking there's a squirrel at the window. Then jump on your mum's lap. Spread yourself out as much as possible to look big. Center your weight so that you're a big, floppy, heavy, hard-to-move squishy Siamese ball. And keep your reflexes fit: try running really fast around the house and then stopping super fast by jumping on the arms of furniture. You could also try pigging down her food.

Dear M~
Thanks for your advice. This morning I ate up Rose' morning turkey. Mummy calls me "Boovers", or Belle Hoover in long paw. Victory tastes so smokey! Tonight, I am in the mood to make litter castles... do you have any suggestions for other shapes I can make when I shift litter around as loud as possible during the night?
Luv ya,
Belle Buttons

Dear Milo:
I will follow your advice. I will meow at the top of my lungs for no good reason and teach mummy and poppy what kind of hell I can bring them if they don't concede. I find throwing up with sad eyes always brings out the extra food because mummy worries about me starving now that there is no food in my belly.
Dreaming of ho hos,
RB

Dear Rose--
Yes, throwing up is a great strategy. So it pretending to eat carpet lint or other undigestables and acting otherwise delirious and weak from hunger.
Yours in plumpness--
Milo

Dear BB--
Great idea! I never thought to make a litter ruckus. I'm going to add that to my repertoire. During the night if I get restless or lonely, I like to get right on my person's pillow and breathe directly on her face or lay on her face. It's hilarious when she wakes up with a mouthful of my rabbity and extravagent fur.
